Vernon Lee Rankens

Vern loved spending time with his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed gaming and watching the Detroit Tigers. Vern also proudly served in the Navy.

Vern was preceded in death by parents Harold & Jeanette Rankens; wife of 42 years Sandra Rankens; and brother-in-law Wayne Brower.

He is survived by wife of 10 years Carol (Wedeven) Rankens; children Kevin (Elizabeth) Rankens, Tonia (Joseph) Kuhn, & Heather (Steven) Zacker; as well as step-children Dan (Dawn) Wedeven, Chris (Corla) Wedeven, & Nicole (Ross) Blauwkamp. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sister Belva Brower; as well as in-laws Dianne (Ray) VanderMolen, Shari (Bill) Duimstra, Julie (Vern) Eding, Tom (Cindy) Schipper, & Jane (Jim) Dunkerton. In addition, Vern is survived by many nieces & nephews.

A visitation for Vern will be held on Sunday, 7/7 at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, 49424 from 6-8 PM. A memorial service will take place on Monday, 7/8 at 11:00 AM at Bentheim Reformed Church - 3997 38th St. Hamilton, 49419, with visitation at 10:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choosing.
