
Thelma Belle Baker Shell-Katz, 80, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011, at the University of Toledo Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 15, 1931 in Toledo Ohio to George and Dorothea (Link) Baker.
Thelma was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School. She was employed as a secretary for Prestolite Automotive and later worked in various departments of the Toledo Medical Center. She was an active member of the Providence Lutheran Church. Thelma was also part of Bunco and Pinochle Clubs, as well as a member of the Chanterettes of the Zenobia Shrine. Thelma enjoyed being a grandmother and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.
Thelma is survived by her children, Deborah D. (John) Hyter, Susan R. (Jon E.) Stahl, Robert C. (Maureen E.) Schell and Michael A. (Beverly) Schell; a plethora of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Vivian (John) Knapp, Beverly (Harry) Powless and Sheldon (Denise) Katz and faithful friend, Betty Schmidt. Thelma is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert C. Schell, Sr. and Walter Katz, her parents, George and Dorothea and cousin, Pat Richenbaugh.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 2-9 pm in the Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH (419-865-8879). Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 10:30 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Providence Lutheran Church, 8131 Airport Highway, Holland, OH.
