In 1965, he married Anita (deceased) and in 1970 daughter Kimberley (husband Steven Shepherd) was born. He began working for Bigham Insulation as a warehouseman and retired from the same company as an estimator in commercial construction. He would proudly say in 47 years he worked for only one company. In 1966, he began his lifelong relationship with the Miami Dolphins.
In 1976 he was reunited with Eileen Brennan who also attended McArthur and they married in 1977, two daughters Christine (husband Jason Ferrentino) and Lisa (Alvarez) followed in 1978 and 1979 respectively. Al and Eileen built an amazing life together, three children, five grandchildren- Alana and Haylee (stepdaughters of Kim) Madison and Tyler (children of Lisa) and Makenzie (daughter of Christine) and a community of family and friends.
Al became a Mason in 1997. He is a Past Master and 33rd degree Mason with Roe Fulkerson Lodge No. 299 F. & A. M. He both loved and respected his work as a Mason. More than anything this great man loved his family. Countless celebrations and holidays were spent in Al and Eileen’s home.
We are left with warm memories of family vacations and get togethers.
Al’s health has declined since the summer of 2021. He passed peacefully, holding Eileen’s hand surrounded by his daughters and grandchildren. He leaves us with the lesson of living a life of kindness, love and humor.
In lieu of flowers send donations to the Masonic Home.
