

Alix Neptune passed away in Hollywood, Florida on August 5th, 2025. Alix was born in Aquin, Haïti to Octave Neptune and Nita (Gourdet) Neptune on April 28th, 1934. He was a widower and had been married to Eline (Coimin) Neptune for 60 years prior to her passing in January of this year. Alix was a graduate of Lycée Toussaint L’Ouverture in Port-au-Prince, Haïti. He was later trained and practiced as an attorney and an accountant. During the 1960s he served as a teacher in Africa, specifically the Congo, where, along with a cohort of Haitian professionals, he worked to support the development of the newly independent Congolese people. He later moved to Brooklyn, New York where he began a career as a banker, later transitioning back to Haïti where he rose to become Vice-President of the Banque de L'Union Haitienne until his retirement. Upon retiring, he moved in 1992 to Miami, Florida where he again served as a teacher with the Dade County Public School System. Féfé, as he was known to many, was a devoted Catholic and lived a life that was consistent with his faith and values. He served for many years as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister at the Holy Family Catholic Church in North Miami, Florida.
He is survived by his children, Mary Carmelle (Neptune) Philogene and Philippe Neptune; their spouses Stephane Philogene and Marie M. Neptune; his grandchildren, Alix Philogene, Tanique Philogene and her husband Daniel Hukportie, Reann Philogene, Gaelle Neptune, and Taina Neptune, and his many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, and friends.
