Andrea Bernard, age 95 of Miramar, FL, formerly of North Miami, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Memorial Regional Hospital South, under Seasons Hospice care. She was born on January 15, 1923 in Saint-Jean-du-Sud, Haiti, to Prosper Bernard and Merisiene Charles. She moved to South Florida in 2000 and was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Miramar.
She is survived by her beloved children: Mireille Blain (Fritz) of Miramar; Florence Smarth of San Francisco, CA; Therese Theagene of Port Charlotte, FL; Marie Claire Chatelain (Max) of Hollis, New York; Ducasse Francois of Bridgeport, CT; and Desmangles Francois of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Also 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Ducosse Francois, three brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00 noon, with a funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 noon at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 8005 Miramar Parkway, Miramar FL, 33025 with entombment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Road 7, North Lauderdale FL 33068.
Repast will be held at Kasa Champer, 7920 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines FL 33024.
