We are so sad to hear of your death. I treasure the memories we had with Tony and Justin playing hockey together and the good times we had at the rinks. You will be missed but mostly I will miss the holiday greeting you would send without fail . Tony RIP my friend and my sincere condolences to Tony , Justin and your entire family. You were always a complete gentleman and a good friend.

Little Laura to Mom:  I’m gonna run away! Mom:  Ok, where ya gonna go? Little Laura:  To Missa (couldn’t pronounce Misses) Grandinetti’s house! Tony is my oldest friend in the world.  We met when both of us were four years old—a year before we started kindergarten together at Norwood Methodist where Tony became my first husband:  he was Joseph, and I was the Virgin Mary in our school play.  I have so many wonderful  snapshot memories of my childhood with Tony (and the ENTIRE Grandinetti family). If I wasn’t home, I was at their house; if Tony wasn’t home, he was at our house. Big Sis, Trisha, baby sat for my little brother and and me, and  if not for her, I might never have overcome my fear of the water; she taught me to swim in the Norland pool (I am eternally grateful). Tony and I climbed and hung upside down like little spider monkeys on a swing set with no swings in the backyard; we played cowboys and Indians with all the neighborhood boys (I was the only girl, and therefore, was required to be the nurse. The one time I objected, I was told I didn’t make the noises right). I watched with envy as some of the older kids skillfully glided across puddles after rainstorms on thin planks of wood—an art known as skimboarding.   While explaining never to touch it, Mr. Grandinetti introduced us kids with wide-eyed wonder to dry ice. There was smoke coming from the freezer!. Cut to Tony’s belly dancing in the Grandinetti kitchen. He taught me how to make my belly roll around in waves, too, but I was never quite as good. Then, there were warnings of witches and the flying cactus:  you had to plan your walk around the block carefully… Ready? RUN!!! Oddly, we always survived. I was afraid of that area for YEARS!  Long into our adulthood, Tony told me that John and Mike had been the culprits; they had been telling him those stories for a long time; he was a scared four-year-old just like me! So, thanks, guys!  LOL Our moms coordinated our nap times to be as close as possible. Playtime was over for a little while, and it was time to go around the block back home in unison, “See ya when I wake up!”

Though our paths took us in differently directions, we always found time for a “Happy Birthday!” (I never let Tony forget he’s three months older than I am), an out-of-the-blue “What’s up?” Or an “I just saw someone doing  sign language on TV, and it made me think of you” text.  I’m grateful I never erase text conversations. I’ll have his forever. Tony, my dear old friend, I miss you something fierce. Until we are all together again in that big old neighborhood in the sky, Rest In Peace, and then we can say again, “See ya when I wake up!”

To many good memories to list. Great surf trips, nights out on the town , one thing you always new is that Tony had your back. Rest In Peace Brother. You will be missed.

Life is harsh, life is unfair.  Life might take away your loved ones to heaven, but it can never snatch away their memories.  May you find comfort in reflecting on the memories you share with Tony.  

I am sorry for your loss. I shall always remember Tony's good sense of humor. my wife joins me in sending our most sincere sympathy.

Tony you will be so missed at Caribbean Grill. We all got to share so many memories of you coming in with your sons and granddaughter to get your order of croquetas and a smoothie. You were an amazing father and grandpa. My wish is that your bright light live on within the lives of them and those you touched along the way. Breakfast at the Caribbean won’t be the same without you.

Tony was a truly special, one of a kind person that I am so grateful to have gotten to know over the last few years. I will forever miss our chats, random hang outs and simply laughing or joking around. It was always such a joy being in your presence. I wish we could have had more time, but I will always cherish the wonderful memories we have. You were also there for me when things were rough. I remember you’d call me everyday after my dad passed, just to see how I was doing. I was so touched by that. I’m so blessed to have you as my father in law. I’ll love and miss you always. 

Tony, you may be gone but, you will never, ever, be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts and memories.  And, we feel very privileged to have many, many wonderful memories.

Mr. Grandinetti treated me like a son.  I remember meeting him for the first time when I was 17. 
 When I used to meet up with his son, Tony Jr., he used to tell me "my house is your house" and "I trust you because your a good kid."  Over the past 16 years, I lost track of how many times I had been over his house to hang out with his son.  So many wonderful memories and so many laughs.  He always had me rolling on the floor laughing.  Mr. Grandinetti was an amazing father and grandfather.  He was the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back.  Mr. Grandinetti, I'll never forget your kindness and hospitality (e.g. tickets to hockey games and dinner at Pizza Time).  Thank you for your encouraging words and side splitting sense of humor. I know your watching over all of us from above.  I was blessed to have met you, your son and your family. You will be deeply missed.

Tony G. RIP my friend. It was a pleasure working with you over the years we always had fun joking around you will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to your family

Tony  the gentle giant its hard 2 believe you have crossed over. You were a stand up guy ALWAYS going out of your way 2 say hello and give me  the bearhug greeting  wherever I ran into you. You  consistently  were a sharp dresser too with those 2 &1/2 Men shirts that I everyone loved. EVERYONE WILL CERTAINLY MISS YOU and my condolences 2 the immediate family and especially Richie - Dino & the boys who were always in your corner. You were the only guy I know who loved pizza more than me. Have a  few slices up there 4 all of us=  We will see you when we get there but for now we will drink/eat  and live on in your honor....

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Tony for about 10 years. Tony was a very special person. Anyone who ever spent even a little time with him knew what an amazing sense of humor he had. He could have you holding your sides within minutes of entering the room. He always had funny catch phrases and just lived life. He was like a big teddy bear. A man as special as Tony will never be forgotten. It was an honor and a privilege to have shared the years we had together. He will remain in our hearts forever. Take your rest my friend.

I remember when your mom and dad and sister and brothers used to come visit us in New Jersey during the summer.  You boys always stayed at Grandma's house and your sister stayed at our house down the street.  We always looked forward to your visits.  I especially loved all of us gathered around the table at dinner time enjoying the great food that Grandma made.  I'm sure you and the rest of the relatives in heaven are enjoying one of those dinners now.  Rest in Peace cousin.

I can't believe you're gone I know we weren't real close but you would always tell me stories about your granddaughter and how much you loved her and it took a long time for you to get the frames to put her pictures in and my thoughts are with your family and Richard because you guys were so close you'll be thought about often love you Starr

Coach Grandinetti was one of the best Coaches i have ever had in my Life. I Have so Many Good memories as a kid playing hockey for him. A truly good hearted person, that only saw the best in people. He was one of the Best !

 I met Tony when Darlene and him started dating. I remember how he always had a sense of humor and overall great guy. I ran into him a few times through the years and we always had good conversations. My love and prayers go out to Anthony, Jr. Caty, Justin, Jen and the family. 

Cousin Tony... So many great memories when we visited from NJ to see our Florida cousins.   I am so heart broken.  You and I are the youngest in our family so yes we were spoiled!!! So many stories to tell but here is one that will put a smile on one's face... When my brother Eddie and I were visiting you were driving down the good old hwy 95 and we were approaching a toll booth and you just drove passed without paying the toll and my brother just turned and looked at me.  Then we get to another toll and again Tony blew thru that one.  Again my brother looked at me and for sure I thought the cops were going to stop us.... but then Tony turns to us and says..."IT doesn't say Tony has to pay toll..!!  We laughed so hard.  Tony surely did things his way.   So I am sure he blew by the gates to heaven!!!!  Tony I will miss you sharing our stories!!! Love you to the moon and back. ❤

Tony you sure will be missed, I was blessed to meet you about 6 years ago and it was on Christmas. You opened your house to me and invited me over for Christmas dinner and you made sure I got to enjoy an amazing Italian Christmas dinner. I'll also never forget you telling me during Justin and Jen's wedding to come from the heart and you'll crush it after I told you I don't think I can compete with your speech lol but Tony, Mr G you will be missed by so many and we're all blessed to have had you in our lives. May your soul rest in forever peace and thank you for giving me my best friend Justin. I'll forever hold a place in my heart for you

I remember went I was 8 years old and I stayed In Miami for about 6 months and tony , John and Michael all taught me how to play baseball it was the first time I ever played that game and it was so much fun I miss that smile all the laughter and just the whole Grandineti attitude you will be missed Tony I love you..

I had the honor and privilege to know BIG Tony. He was always smiling and had the best jokes when I met with him on our jobsite.... He will be dearly missed. Praying for his family and friends he left behind..

I’ve known Tony for over 10 years. Tony was a remarkable human being, one of the funniest and caring people I know. There wasn’t a time that I was with him that we didn’t share a laugh together and not a conversation went by where Tony didn’t bring up and talk about his precious granddaughter. She was everything to him. I will not only miss my professional associations with Tony but more importantly my personal association with him, whether it was having lunch together, an espresso or cuban coffee together or a drink at Frank and Dino’s in Boca, one of his favorite spots. Tony was a hellava guy that’s for sure and I’m going to miss him dearly. Rest easy my friend. 

Tony, we met at 17, married at 21, together for 25 years, had two beautiful children and one beautiful granddaughter. We will all miss you forever. 

Even know we did not keep in touch, my memories of our lives as youngsters playing football at ND  and going for pizza after every game win or lose will be with me until we meet again. Rest easy my friend, lots of hugs to the family.

I can’t imagine what my childhood would have been like without Tony Grandinetti. He was point on our adventures around Norland schools, The optimist club, and especially Norwood pool. He was sharp, funny, and I thought of him as my cousin. We had left all of our Italian cousins in New York, But the Grandinetti kids stepped in. I haven’t seen him in years, not since my father‘s funeral, but I am deeply saddened to hear he passed. Rest in peace Tony. You were one of a kind.

So very sorry to hear of Tony’s passing. He was a great man and a wonderful co-worker. He will be sorely missed. Sending thoughts and prayers Ernie Thom
