

Arthur Edwin Sapp, 89, of Tamarac, FL, passed away on July 25, 2010, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Jacksonville, FL, on July 26, 1920, he resided in Broward County from 1926 until his death. Edwin served in the US Navy. He was graduated from the University of Miami in 1955 and was a partner for over forty years in one of the oldest CPA firms in Broward: Madsen, Sapp, Mena, Rodriguez & Co., P.A. He was the longest standing member of First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale and remained actively involved for 85 years. He served as Chair of Deacons several times as well as the leader in many church activities and a member of various committees. He was designated a pioneer of Broward County at its 75th Anniversary. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Betty Sapp, all his siblings, and his loving wife of 54 years Willie Clyde Billie McCormick Sapp. He is survived by his second wife Marjorie Varner Sapp and her family; five children and their spouses. He is survided by his four children; Judy and George Wieder; Jan and Mickey McNeill, David and Angie Sapp, and Richard and Stacey Sapp; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Greg and Beth Wieder, Jill and Glenn Goodrich, Cassie and Scott Castner, Christie and Erin Sapp, Kevin and Amy Sapp; eight great-grandchildren: Max and Michael Wieder, Connor and Lauren Castner, Logan, Emma, Lily, and Becca Goodrich. He was loved by his family and greatly admired by his church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edwins name to First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale.
