Carlos Eduardo Linares

Carlos Eduardo Linares died peacefully at his home on June 21, 2019 in Ft Lauderdale, FL at the age of 62. Carlos is survived by his Mother, Esther Linares, Salem, Oregon; wife, Judy Linares; children, Patricia and Jessica Linares; brothers; Miguel, Minneapolis, MN; Jose, Salem, OR; Ricardo, Salem, OR; and Roberto, Corvallis, OR. He is preceded in death by his Father, Carlos G. Linares.

Carlos was born in Caibarien, Cuba to Carlos and Esther Linares, the oldest of 5 children. He spent his childhood growing up in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, which he loved deeply. Carlos graduated from South Albany High School in 1975, attended Oregon State University where he earned a BS in Business and San Franciso State University where he received his MBA with honors. Carlos married Judy Hashagen, his high school sweetheart, in 1979. Carlos had a long and very successful career working in the telecommunications industry. He achieved the position of CEO/Vice President of the Latin American and Caribbean region for Lucent Technologies. He loved to travel and had the opportunity to travel the world with his work and for pleasure. He traveled to over 40 countries in the world.

He was a generous individual who loved his family and was extremely proud of his daughters. He was loving to his brothers, to whom he never hesitated to give advice.

A memorial service is scheduled for June 29 at 1:00 pm at St Mark Catholic Church, 5601 S. Flamingo Rd, Southwest Ranches, FL 33330, with a reception to follow at 8930 S. Lake Dasha Drive, Plantation, FL 33324. All are welcome to attend the celebration of Carlos's life.
