Carole Abbott IL Grande

Carole was born in Warrington, England to Mary Mellor and Robert Shannon on February 7th, 1946. She married Filippo Il Grande on July 6th, 1967, in Freeport, Grand Bahamas Island and moved to the United States with her husband in the early 1970’s. She was the Matriarch of the Il Grande family and owner of Il Tulipano, Café Tulipe, and Tulipano Centodieci. She was a member of Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurse, Sommelier Guild, and Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani. Her legacy will live in our hearts and at the beautiful home she built with her husband, Willow House at Marchicello, Vibo Valencia, Italia.

Carole is preceded in death by her mother Mary Mellor, father Robert Shannon, sister Jean Goodwin, Aunt Dora Sutton, and cousin Joyce Kwasnicki. Mother-in-law Ana Di Paola, father-in-law Michele Il Grande. Sister-in-laws Lea Il Grande, Antonia Il Grande, and Sara Il Grande. Brother-in-laws Antonio Il Grande, Antonio Fortunato, Pasquale Libertino, Peter Foy, Donald Goodwin. Neice Tatiana Libertino and nephews Stephen Foy and Matthew Mellor.

Carole is survived by her devoted husband Filippo Il Grande and their daughters Annamaria Celeste Il Grande and Daniela Il Grande. Her brothers Donald Mellor, Brian Mellor, Granville Mellor, and sister Vera Carrington. Sister-in-laws Romania Il Grande, Carmela Il Grande, Piera Marchese, Jill Trudy Il Grande, and Eugenia Il Grande. Brother-in-laws Nando Il Grande, Francesco Il Grande, Pino Il Grande, Pietro De Vita, and Mico Crusafio. Nieces Donna Jowsey, Claire Durrans, Emma Jowsey, Rose Wilson, Anita Hibbert, Leanne Hanmer, Carrie Harrison, Anna De Vita, Carmelina Libertino, Lucia Crisafio, Annalisa Il Grande, Ilenia Vitetta, Rebecca Crisafio, Carole Il Grande, Sara Mazzeo, and Giada Libertino.
