A Korean war vet and long standing member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, Toastmasters, and Kiwanis, Charlie Moore often performed community service. Earlier in his life, he lived in Mexico, where he attended art school and became fluent in Spanish. He was always generous with his time, whether with family, friends, or strangers in need, and always willing to offer a helping hand. A creative person, he played both guitar and harmonica, and made many appearances with his harmonica group. He also wrote articles for harmonica magazines, offering his expertise in caring for the instrument. He was a member of the Davie Chamber of a Commerce for many years, having built up his business, MOORE Engraving Crafts, from scratch. He never lost his love of life or his sense of humor, even after he was diagnosed with cancer. He died on Tuesday, March 15th, in the same home where he lived with wife, Bea. The world is a better place for his having been in it.
Charles Moore is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Bea, his daughter, Cathy, and his grandson, Christopher.
Cathy posted a poem on her blog that she wrote for her father last year. You can click on the following link to read it.
