Neil as he was affectionately called, was born in Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas to Cornelius and Violet Martinborough on January 26, 1982. Neil came into this world as a talker, wailing with something to say. In his younger years, Neil attended Mary Star of The Sea Catholic Primary School from 1985-1994, Grand Bahama Catholic High School 1994-2000, where he honed his interest in sports specifically baseball and gained many friends. Neil also attended Miami Lakes Community College, in Miami, Florida where he studied accounts.
Neil eventually came back to The Bahamas, where he honed his customer service skills which made him excellent in the food & beverage industry. While working at Sparky’s, he met his future wife. Neil had a high standard of family life which was instilled from an early age. Before proposing to Betty, he made sure everyone who was important to him met her, she was instantly loved by everyone.
Neil proposed and married Betty on January 9th, 2010, this union blossomed two beautiful children, Nikolas & Layla. Neil was an adamant family man and always maintained balance with work and home. He always made sure that his family came to his home The Bahamas where he loved to be and wanted them to experience what he loved about home. Neil was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin and was loved by all. With his boisterous laugh and funny sense humor immediately, he made everyone feel welcomed and loved. There was never a dull moment being around him. Neil was also an avid sports enthusiast, AND as everyone knows he LOVED “DEM COWBOYS”.
He worked as a General Manager for The Whole Enchilada Plantation for 9 years. Neil had a spirit bigger than life; you would always hear him before you see him. He was always welcoming to anyone he met with a smile. Neil had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and wanted to expand his horizons; he had many plans. Unfortunately, he would not get the opportunity to see this happen.
