Craig Hoi-Pong, affectionately known to close family as “Craiggy” or “Squaggah," of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away at the young age of 39 on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in the country of Trinidad and Tobago. Beloved son of Carl Hoi-Pong and Lana Logan, he left behind a legacy and a hole in many hearts across the islands, United States, Canada, Dubai and possibly the world. Survived by his siblings Kyle, Leiyen, and Nia, he was a loving father of Adrian, Isaiah, and his Labradoodles Marley and Ziggy. He was a hardworking, goal driven teen who turned his neighborhood car wash business and surname into a legacy brand that many will know for years to come. As a teen he initially washed cars to earn money for his sneaker passion. As his business grew, he invested in his first car that he customized and sold for a profit. He sought guidance from his mentor Shaheed GoPaul and started out painting in his mom’s garage. After several citations from the city, he rented a shop and would wake up at 4am to paint. Craig continued that passion and sold approximately 100 cars not to mention how many he owned as a young entrepreneur. His hard work and attention to detail, left his customers very happy with his services and his business blossomed and gained attention due to his marketing genius and his mastery of social media. Even prospective customers took notice of his work from as far as Dubai. He has been interviewed by New Times and other forms of media as his clientele and popularity on Instagram continues to flourish.
Craig had a keen sense of fashion who created his own clothing brand with the partnership of his brother via “HoiPong Printing” Not only were his clients having their cars, motorcycles and bicycles customized by Craig, they were also patrons of his trendy clothing and merchandise. He customized everything from cars to clothes (#buildabrand)."
Craig had saved up enough to rent his first shop and worked night and day throughout the years, until he was eventually able to purchase the building. Other mentionable endeavors & accomplishments he pioneered were starring in musical artists videos, “HoiPong DJ’s and Artists," “Pingpong Pins," “Pongpowered,” “HoiPong Homes," “HoiPong Car Wash Soap”. In February of 2019, he announced his partnership with Lamborghini and Corhweels. He just recently opened a second location of “HoiPong Customs” and had many other plans for future expansion.
Besides collecting cars and sneakers, Craig found it important to give back to the community he helped the needy in Miami, as well as, in Trinidad “#HoiPong Cares”. Throughout his short lifetime, he was a role model and mentor who always made time for his family regardless of his demanding work schedule. Craig had a huge heart, warm smile and jovial personality someone so special can never be forgotten.
May his beautiful soul rest in peace
