

Hashemi, Deane, 51 of Fort Lauderdale, Florida passed away on April 29th, 2014. Deane was born August 1st 1962 to Elizabeth and Robert Sutcliffe. She was raised in Pompano Beach. Deane loved the ocean; she spent many years sailing with her father, Robert, to the Bahamas. In 1985 she found the love of her life Hamid and they later married in 1990. From 1985 to 2005, Deane was Vice President of Operations for Muvico Theaters, a company she and her husband founded. Following the departure from Muvico, in 2006 together they created iPic Theaters a chain of luxury theaters spreading nation wide. Despite her busy work schedule her family was always her first priority. Nothing ever came between her and her three children, which inspired her to be so involved with their sports, academics and future careers. Deane was a past Chair and a longstanding member of the Founders Council at Pine Crest School. She also served as a board member of the Middle and Upper School Parent's Associations and a member of the Advisory Council. Deane touched everyone that ever met her with her compassion, contagious smile, and enthusiasm to live life to the fullest. She instilled her children with her passion for traveling, the water, and her love of life. She will be dearly missed by her surviving husband, Hamid, daughters, Hayley and Lily, son, Alex, sisters Christine and Lorraine, brother, John and parents, Elizabeth and Robert Sutcliffe. Service will be held on Friday May 2nd, 2014 2:30PM at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 140 SE 28th Ave, Pompano Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Holy Cross Hospital Cancer Center.
