Deirdre was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England on May 27, 1937. She came to the United States in 1957 by oceanliner with two bouncing babies, and so began the Lambert/Douglas/Gayler “invasion” of North America.
Deirdre worked as an accountant, confidant, and “angelic assistant” for businessman, Joe A. Chambliss, for over four decades. She was the epitome of a lady and enjoyed the very finest things in life, but it was her family that she cherished most. She embodied the sentiment that “the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched[,] [t]hey must be felt with the heart.” Helen Keller. She made the world a better place by being in it.
Deirdre is survived by:
her three daughters, Kim, Debbie Lynn, and Theresa;
her eight grandchildren, Sara, Jennifer, T.J., Kyle, Janice, Ashley, Megan, and Deirdre;
her nine great grandchildren, Chase, Ayra, Christian, Gabriel, Liliana, Eleanor, Kingsley, Kalani, and Giovanna;
her two brothers, Frank and Reginald;
her two sisters, Janice and Heather;
several nieces and nephews, and
other family and friends.
Deirdre is preceded in death by her Mum (Agnes Lambert), her brother (Brian), her sister (Susan), her son (Jimmie) and his wife (Cathy), and her niece (Allison).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
