Dorit was born in Berlin, Germany, to Herta and Alfred Samlowski, on April 19, 1930. She married Johann Fendl on May 14, 1966, in Miami Beach, Florida. She worked as an executive secretary for Junior Chambers International and later attained her LPN degree. She also worked as a bookkeeper for HF Graphics, and as a gentle and loving homemaker who welcomed all.
Dorit is preceded in death by her husband, Johann, and by her parents.
Dorit is survived by her daughter, Karin Fendl Esposito, and her grandson, Timothy Esposito; by her sister, Ute Weber and her family; by her stepson, Hans Fendl and his son, Hans Florian Fendl; and by Heidi Neuziel and Cathy Simmons, who became family these last few years.
The family of Dorit wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Alyson Hardin and Sheryl Strasser, who were there for her in her last days and hours, and to many friends in the Florida Keys who looked out for her. In addition, the family is grateful for the kind and caring attention of the employees at the Palace, Weston, these past two months.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to two charities Dorit particularly loved: Operation Smile and Heifer International.
