

After several months of declining health, Earl George Fong passed peacefully. From his birth in Guys Hill, Jamaica on March 31, 1942, to his death at the Sunrise Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, July 15th 2020, Earl loved and cherished the people around him. He did this by sharing his past time of his love of the Lord, music, sports, cooking, horses, and time spent with his family and friends at family gatherings. Earl attended St. Jago High School in Jamaica. He married Apstead Joy Thomas on April 16, 1966. They migrated to Rochester, New York with their three children in 1978, finally settling in Miami, Florida in 1980. Earl worked for FPL for over twenty years. Earl’s greatest achievement and calling in life was to be “Grandpa.”
Earl was preceded in death by his Dad Leslie, his Mom Violet, his siblings Annette (Deany), Owen, Oscar, and his granddaughter Haleigh.Earl is survived by his siblings: Yvonne (Moye) Fong, Angela (Marcie) Fong-Craig , Michelle (Suzy) Fong-Goldson, Diane Fong, Junior Fong, Trevor Fong, David Fong, Lincoln Fong, and Mark (Marky) Fong Morris Ramsahai, Guy (Ricky) Ramsahai, Rhoan Ramsahai, Maureen (Phil) Ramsahai, Christina (Chrissy) Ramsahai, and Claudette Richards.
Left to honor and carry-on his legacy are his children: Michael Hugh Fong, Christopher Warren Fong, and Karen Stacy Fong-Roberts. Karen, along with her daughters, were his end of life caregivers. His absolute joy and gift from God grandchildren are Kristian Alexis Fong, Gabrielle (Gabby) Hannah Roberts, Logan Sierra Roberts, Hunter Tai Roberts, and his great grandson Kayden Mekhi Pouncey. He is also survived by a host of families and friends.
The children and grandchildren of Earl Fong would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to Auntie Claudette, Auntie Moye, and (Uncle) “D” for their attentiveness and loving assistance.
DUE TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS: The July 25th, 2020, celebration of life services, will be held for the family and close friends only.
