

Born in Troy, New York on August 12, 1924, the son of Martin and Magdalena (Szosda) Guzy. Raised and educated in Troy, New York. He married his beloved Mary Jo Nemeroski of Cambridge, Massachusetts with whom he shared 51 happy years until she passed in 2007.
In 1944 he enlisted in the United States Navy and began a 26 year career, retiring in 1969 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer, grade 4. He served as a Commanding Officer at the Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge, Maryland and the Office of Resident Supship in Baltimore. Mr. Guzy was awarded four Good Conduct Medals, American Theatre, European-African Theatre, World War II Medal, Navy Occupation Medal (Europe) National Defense Service Medal.
A resident of Cooper City, Florida since 1969, he and his late wife Mary were one of the founding members of St. Mark Catholic Church in South West Ranches, Florida and remained a communicant up until his passing. He was a member of St. Mark Men's Club.
Edward is survived by his brother, John Guzy and his wife, Eleanor Guzy of Latham, New York and numerous nieces and nephews around the country including Dr. Edward Swiderski and wife Joanne, Stefanie Fazlzone, Joseph Gelowtski and Marcessia Gelowtski, Christopher Guzy, Stephanie Guzy Butkiewicz and Carole Guzy Borgerding. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Martin Guzy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 12th at St. Mark Catholic Church, 5601 South Flamingo Road, South West Ranches, Florida. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Mr. Guzy will be laid to rest, next to his wife Mary at Arlington National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation omitted
