

He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on April 25, 1922 one of ten children born to Henry "Harry" and Mary Jane (Alsop) Gregor. Raised and educated in New Castle, Mr. Gregor enlisted in the United States Army during WW II at the age of 20. He served with the 93rd Cavalry 13th Armored Car Division and was one of the first Americans to go into the concentration camps to free the prisoners'. He received several citations, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, and European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Edwin came home on February 14, 1946.
Before his retirement, Edwin owned and operated his own roofing business and worked at the Fort Wainwright Army Post in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a good, honest man, always willing to help others.
Survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Joanne Kay (Campbell) Gregor, two children from a previous marriage, John Gregor and Bonnie Corley, two step-children, Pam Harvest and Dan Walsh. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grand children.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, March 27th at 10:30 A.M. South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Please meet at the cemetery entrance in Lane 1 by 10:15 A.M.
