Elaine Hyacinth Benjamin

It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Elaine Hyacinth Benjamin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cherished friend. Elaine, a devoted member of our faith community, peacefully entered eternal rest on July 22, 2024.

Elaine was a loving wife to her devoted husband, Winston, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She was a cherished mother to her three daughters, Latanya, Monet and Nissa and a proud grandmother to her two granddaughters, Hayley and Jade. Elaine’s unwavering love and support were the foundation of her family’s lives, and her presence will be deeply missed.

A woman of remarkable talents and passions, Elaine's dedication to education was evident through her passionate involvement with St. Bernadette Catholic School, where she touched many lives with her commitment to learning and growth. Elaine found joy in the grace of playing the piano and beauty of gardening. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, while her piano music brought comfort and inspiration to all who heard it. 

Elaine’s faith was a guiding light in her life. Her devotion to her Catholic beliefs and her active role in the church community provided strength and solace to those around her. She exemplified kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith, leaving a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on August 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North. Donations can be made to St. Bernadette Catholic School in Elaine’s memory, honoring her lifelong commitment to education.

Elaine’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, in the melodies of her piano music, and in the vibrant blooms of her cherished garden. May she rest in the peace of Christ, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
