August 15, 1963 – July 31, 2025
Francis Joseph D’Andrea III, lovingly known as Frankie, passed away on July 31, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on August 15, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, he made his home in Davie, Florida.
Frankie was the beloved son of the late Francis Joseph D’Andrea and Nina Lorraine Jessel D’Andrea, whose love shaped the spirited and kind-hearted man we all cherished.
He is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Teryse D’Andrea Anson (Kenneth), Anthony D’Andrea (Kristy), Patricia Ann Sandlin (the late Leon), Joseph D’Andrea (Brenna), and James D’Andrea (Mandy). He is also survived by his paternal aunts and their spouses: Grace Fort and the late Marcello Fort, and Francine Mendoza (who shares a birthday with Frankie) and Paul Mendoza—each of whom played a role in offering Frankie guidance and unconditional support.
Frankie was a proud uncle to 12 nieces and nephews, 17 great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-grandnephew, and many wonderful cousins . His family was a source of immense pride and joy.
Frankie was known for his lightning-fast wit, big heart, and sense of adventure. He was an avid walker who could effortlessly cover miles, often exploring his favorite neighborhoods and city routes. He had a deep appreciation for public transit—especially the bus system—which gave him a sense of freedom and connection to the world around him.
He loved being around people and had a special place in his heart for the elderly, often offering help and companionship wherever he could. A man of faith, Frankie served as both altar boy and usher at Saint David Catholic Church for several years. His quiet acts of service reflected the goodness in his heart.
When it came to food, Frankie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—pizza, strawberry milkshakes, burgers, and hot dogs (just like his dad)—but also loved a perfectly cooked steak or lobster.
A lifelong Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes fan, Frankie also loved fishing, being outdoors, and listening to music, especially ‘70s rock and classic country artists like the Rolling Stones and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Frankie will be remembered for the way he made people laugh, the stories he told, and the kindness he showed so effortlessly. His legacy is one of humor, love, family, and resilience.
A celebration of Frankie’s life will be held on August 15, 2025, at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home on Taft Street in Hollywood, Florida. In his honor, we invite everyone to raise a milkshake, play some classic rock, or wear Dolphins gear in memory of a man who lived with Heart ❤️
