Frank was born in Staten Island, NY, to Frank and the late Carol Tracy Paterno on April 15, 1959. He graduated from Tottenham High School and Wagner College, both in Staten Island. He relocated to South Florida 30 years ago where he purchased gas station/convenience stores in the Fort Lauderdale area. From the oil business, Frank segued into commodities brokerage, eventually specializing in trading precious metals. At the time of his death, he was a Portfolio Manager with Endeavor Metals Group of West Palm Beach, where he'd been for many years.
Frank is survived by his adored life partner Jill Rafferty of Juno Beach, FL; his beloved son Nicholas of Plantation; and his dear daughter Jessica of Racine, WI; his sister Leeann and his father Frank also of Racine. He is also survived by his ex-wife and mother of his children, Lori Paterno of Vermont.
Frank was a passionate muscle-car buff who enjoyed attending car shows and auctions. He was an American Civil War enthusiast and quite knowledgeable in Native American history as well. He loved horses; racing his trotter Denali Run were some of the happiest times in his life. And Frank reveled in an audience; he'd never miss an opportunity to encourage a smile, or even better, a belly laugh with his stories and tall tales.
