Motyl, Gary P., 60, of Ft. Lauderdale died suddenly on June 18, 2012. He was the husband of Margaret Dwyer Motyl of Ft. Lauderdale and the son of Marie E. Motyl of Melbourne, FL and the late Paul Motyl.
Born on March 29, 1952, Gary graduated from Reading High School in Reading, PA and received a B.S. in finance from Lehigh University and a M.B.A. from Pace University.
Gary had a distinguished 35 year career in the investment industry. He was the third investment professional hired by Sir John Templeton for his firm in 1981 and worked closely with him for many years. At the time of his death, Gary was the Chief Investment Officer of Templeton Global Equity Group and President of Templeton Investment Counsel, LLC. Gary was known for his intelligence, hard work and dedication to his family, clients and colleagues. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sister, Cheryl A. Gerber of Melbourne, FL and niece, Emily K .Gerber of Orlando.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 4 to 8 pm with a Service at 7:00 pm at Fred Hunter's Downtown Ft. Lauderdale Chapel, 718 S. Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
