

Born on October 13, 1934, in New York to Jack and Helen Antkies, Irwin was a man of many talents and a lived a life filled with purpose. For 32 years, he proudly served as an engineer for PanAm in the Seychelles, where he made lifelong friends and touched the lives of many. Irwin was also a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Air Force with honor and dedication.
Irwin’s life was marked by his quiet strength, generosity, and a deep sense of loyalty to those he loved. He is survived by his loving brother, Morton, his niece, Tracey, and his nephews, Julien and Peter, along with their children. Irwin was also a beloved member of Lilly’s family, where he embraced the children of her heart—Donovan, Shoanna, Sharon, Karen, Greta, Janet, and Kevin—as his own, along with Lilly’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy.
Irwin will be remembered not just for his many accomplishments, but for the kindness, humor, and wisdom he shared with everyone around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
A funeral service will be held on September 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. Burial will follow at Fred Hunter’s Hollywood Memorial Garden North, 3001 N 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33024.
