To my brother Ivan, nothing prepare me when you left this world. But I know you will still guide me on my path. You gave your lessons, your wisdom and most importantly your love. I will carry on what you left behind, so that I can tell you what I experience when we meet again. Until we meet again your Brother Salomon.

It didn't matter where we drove to or from. It was comforting to have Ivan next to me to make the journey memorable. His kindness, generosity and humour will always be a very special part of my life journey. I am very privileged and thankful to a be a part of his  circle of friends and warm family. Thank you Ivan you will be greatly missed.and always remembered. Keep the Faith, Increase the Faith and always lead with the heart. My sincerest condolences to his entire family and friends.

Ivan, 

To this day, I still cannot believe my brother, cousin, tio, friend, Sensei is no longer here. When I spoke about you last Friday, there were moments where I froze and wanted to walk off stage. However, I heard your voice within my head, telling me to not be afraid!

There have been many moments in my life where I have been scared, afraid, or regretted to make decisions which would have helped me in the long run. Since we reunited years ago, you have helped me see the kind of person I can be when I put my heart and soul into something.

You were the only person who told me not to be scared and enjoy my trip to Russia during the 2018 World Cup championship weekend! You insisted I go in there with an open mind. Because of you, I had the time of my life! That trip had me filled with emotions and it was because of you!

My condolences go out to the Carrasco-Cuadros family! I promise to deliver Ivan’s story for years to come. The next generation and beyond will know The ‘97 International Black Belt Hall of Famer, Risk-Taker, Combat Fighter, Soul Survivor and the Legend of Sensei Ivan!
