Jaffa Joy Riley-Douglas, 36, devoted mother and wife passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. Jaffa was born November 11, 1984, in Miramar Florida, to recording artist, Jimmy Riley and registered nurse, Lavern Joy Tatham.
A gregarious and joyful personality, Jaffa is best remembered for bringing her immediate energy, smiles, and laughter to everything and everyone she was involved with. Jaffa graduated from Andrew Jackson high school in Queens NY. Jaffa attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) college where she was a standout student and member of the Class of 2007.
Jaffa held a special passion for nursing and completed her BSN at Broward College in 2018. Jaffa’s professional goal was to become a Nurse Practitioner and she was in midst of completing her MSN degree.
Jaffa’s life partner, Derrick Douglas Jr. of Pembroke Pines FL. Welcomed their first child, Zyaire Omari Douglas in 2009. They married in 2012, and a year later welcomed their second child Khairi Jahmai Douglas to the family.
Jaffa is pre-deceased by her father, who passed away in 2016. She is survived by her husband Derrick; sons, Zyaire (12) and Khairi (7); mother Lavern Tatham; sister Geneva Riley Tiggle; brothers, Omar, Star, Ryan, Michael, and Farai; many, many cousins and numerous extended relatives and loved ones.
