I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. I met him in 1965. I was new to the area and he graciously showed me around. He was a wonderful man and a perfect gentleman. I have not seen Jim in close to fifty years, but he was always held in high esteem in my memory. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My Uncle, A Complicated Man.He was my hero.I always wanted his approval because his own brother looked up to him. Who knows what shaped him to be what he was. first words that come to my mind are honor, steadfastly loyal to his brother and my beloved grandmother . He did the right thing when nobody was looking. He made sure his brothers wife was always taken care of in her time of need after my fathers passing. He set a high bar for the Carmel Family. I regret not knowing him better. On the outside sometimes tough ,but in his heart, kind, loving, generous, and fair. A natural leader. I would hope someday to live up to your name Uncle Jim. I know you and my father, Grandmother and all the Carmel's are looking down on us from heaven. God Bless you.

My deepest sympathies goes out to the family and friends of James Carmel. At this time of great loss may you find comfort in Gods words at Isaiah 25 : 8 which says, " He will swollow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces." Until this future promise is fulfilled may reflecting on it provide you with a measure of strength during this very difficult time.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. There is no worse pain then losing a loved one to death, I also want to share with you the hope that we find in the following Bible verses. God promise in Isaiah 25:8 these comforting word, "He will swallow up death for ever, and certainly wipe the tears from all faces. The Bible also says that God will wipe away the tears from our eyes and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away (Rev. 21:3, 4). What great joy to be able to live forever without the fear of losing our loved ones again. It shall be as he has promise, for God can not lie, Titus 1:2.

I have many Fond Memories of Mr Carmel, One of My Fondest was The Pride and Joy He Had For His Company! His Dedication, Commitment, And Generosity Will Always Have A Lasting Memory With All Who Knew Him. A Life Well Lived Will Live On In The Lives Of Those Who Knew And Loved Him.

Jim was a rare breed, a man that belonged to the gentleman's club. For the many years my husband and I have known Jim, we have grown to see what a kind and gentle and especially generous man he was. His unwavering love for animals touched our heart, he actually rescued a kitten from us, his beloved Jezebel. He never once visited us without bringing a treat for our German Shepherd Remy, he would bring these bones that were larger than him. He was always so generous to me and never forgot me on the holidays, birthday's,Valentine's Day etc. His love for his country was incredible, as well as his pride for his business and especially the devotion he had for his employees, he would always speak of how proud he was of them and their ability to help him grow the business to what it is today. I worked for Jim for over 24 years, he was generous with gifts for his employees. There were flowers or lunch on many holidays. He lived and breathed Builders Notice. Rest in Peace.

I've known Jim as a business partner and friend for over 20 years. What a kind and decent man, and he always remembered me during the holidays with a gift of flowers. I admired Jim as a successful leader in his industry, and won't soon forget him.

Jim was one of the first people I met at ABC when I started here in 1999. I will cherish my memories of him.

"Uncle" Jim was a long time family friend; he even came to visit me and my father Bill at the hospital the day I was born. Growing up, he always instilled in me the importance of education and hard work in everything you do - values I will always take with me. Jim enjoyed his boat "Notice Me" and was always willing to share the joy of boating and being on the water with others. I remember going snorkeling in the ocean for the very first time off the back of the "Notice Me" like it was yesterday. Uncle Jim, you will be greatly missed but the values you have taught me will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.

Jim was a life long friend. We shared many personal and business activities together with an enormous amount of fun and accomplishments. Jim had an loving passion for his business, employees and clients. His pets and his boat "Notice Me" gave him tremendous enjoyment. My friend, you will be missed but never forgotten. Till we meet again, rest well.

My oldest memory of Uncle Jim is when I was 9 years old, and he used to take me water skiing in Key Biscayne. He was an accomplished skier, and a great athlete. Since I was too little for a standard water ski, he used to stand me on top of his...barefoot, and id hold on for the fun. My mother thought it was dangerous. I thought it was the coolest thing I ever got to do! although, the years, and miles separated us, and our lives grew apart, I know how much my dad loved his brother, and I always respected him very much. I had the privilege of meeting James Carmel thanks to Regina Durand. The minute I met him, his passion and joy for Builders Notice and those who worked there with him, was clear. What a dynamic, extraordinary person whose energy and long-time dedication to our Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter, and the construction industry as a whole, will be greatly missed and always remembered. He truly epitomized The Greatest Generation. May he Rest.
