

Rowan, James Kenneth died on Monday, January 23,2017 in Hialeah, Florida. He was born to Christina West Harris in Brooklyn, N.Y. January 6,1947. He moved to Miami, Fla. in 1951. One year later he was stricken with encephilitis which left him somewhat handicapped. Kenny, which he was known as, after some years was able to work as a bag boy at Publix markets, and went to live at Faye Clark's New Horizons in Hialeah. He learned many skills there, and got to travel to many wonderful places. He traveled to Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, and many cities in the United States, and enjoyed the many cruises he went on with his friends. He was employed by Publix for over 25 years.
Kenny was always a loving man. He never forgot his New York aunts and cousins, and was much beloved by his family. Kenny is survived by his mother, Christina Harris, his brothers, Timothy and Christopher Harris, and his sister, Janice Rojas, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all his family.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m at Fred Hunter Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood Florida 33024. Funeral services will be held the following day, Monday, January 30,2017 at the funeral chapel at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at 11:45am.
In lieu of flowers family suggests donations may be made to Faye Clark's New Horizons, a non-profit adult residential training program for persons with developmental disabilities. Donations may be sent to 1349 SE 9th Avenue, Hialeah, Fla. 33010.
