

Jeannette Margaret Harris passed away peacefully in the afternoon on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines Florida due to natural causes. She ultimately lost her battle with cancer. Jeannette, was born in Corona (Queens Borough) New York on June 4, 1939 to Anna & Joseph (George) Leskowitz. She also lived in Mastic Beach and Huntington New York before moving to Florida in 1972 where she lived in Hollywood, North Miami and finally in Cooper City for her last 40 years.
Jeannette is survived by her husband of 43½ years, Melvin and her five children, Adrienne, Stephen, Marc, Michael and Step-Son Philip, nine grandchildren, Bobby, Brian, Cassandra (Cassie), Matthew, Jonathan (Jack), Catherine (Katie), Lillian (Lilly), Chase, Brody, and six great-grandchildren Genesis, Josiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Hunter and Harlee, her brother George and sister Mary, nieces Laurie, Nancy and step-niece Elaine, and nephews Garrett (Gary) and Scott and step-nephew Owen. She had a special place in her heart for her mother figure Angelina (Angie) Savino and Angie’s children Carmella (Millie), Marie (Mary), Nicholas (Nicky), Rosemarie and Francis (Frankie) and their children Joanne, Patricia (Pat), Margaret (Margie), Nicholas (Nick), Catherine (Cathy), Michael. Stephen, John, Robert, Lois, Claudia and Roberta.
Jeannette, a Gemini, celebrated her 80th birthday this year, with a surprise party, and with family and friends and food that celebrated her heritage (German and Hungarian).
Jeannette was primarily a housewife, but she also was a bookkeeper and most importantly to her a Nana and Nurturer to family and friends.
She loved cooking, baking, needlepoint, puzzles, piano, reading (mystery books) and tended to her plants and flowers which flourished under her care. She loved Disney movies and loved spending time with and taking care of and nurturing her children and grandchildren.
Jeannette was selfless, loving, compassionate, insightful, patient, nurturing, sentimental, she was our confidante, and always saw the best in everyone. She always encouraged everyone to be kind, loving and compassionate to each other.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
