Jesse was born in Jasman, California May 21, 1928. He joined the Coast Guard in 1948, serving in Korea. He married his wife Barbara in 1955 they were together 58 years. They had four sons Mike, Butch, Mark, and one daughter Tina. They also had five Grandchildren; John, Jesse, Cody, Casey, Katie, and Austin and nieces and nephew; Terry, Sandy, Jackie, Lori and Eddie. He called all of them his favorite.
He was a Scoutmaster at Norland Methodist; he coached girl's softball and girl's soccer. He was a school crossing guard at Norland Elementary, and Sable Palm Elementary Schools.
For 55 years that he lived in Miami Gardens he devoted his life to the children of North Dade. He lived a happy life and was a Father figure to many.
