Born in Newark, New Jersey on March 7, 1939, daughter of John and Lucie (Guerand) Hoffer. Raised and educated in South Orange, New Jersey, Joan met and married her husband, James Burns. Later they moved to Coral Gables, Florida and then to Hollywood, where they raised their children.
Joan was former owner and operator of Diamond Catering and for many years worked for Streeters Bakery and Catering in Hollywood. She loved gardening, the ocean and going to the beach.
Survived by her three children, Linda (Ross) Noble, Karen (Bill) Bramblett and James (Pam) Burns, 6 grandchildren, Samantha and Kelly Noble, Katie and Paige Bramblett, Sabrina and Brian Burns, one great grandson, Caleb. Also survived by her brother, Ken (Mamie) Hoffer, Sister-In-Law, Janet Hoffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burns in 1996 and brother, Donald Hoffer in 2016.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, May 31st from 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
