In Joannie's words:
"I walk to celebrate my survival. I walk to share with my dear sister, "my other half" on a level that you can't possibly understand unless you have grown in a womb together with another person. I walk to encourage others to love yourself, to love your life, to cherish it. I walk to show others that you can not only survive this disease, you can thrive! And most importantly, I walk with my sisters, my team mates, my "Circle of Friends" to raise funds and awareness so that others will have access to early detection and treatment and will not have to lose their breasts, and sometimes still, their lives."
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
They will run and not grow weary;
They will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
The celebration of Joannie's life will be at Christ Church, 4845 NE 25th Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308. (954) 771-7300, www.echristchurch.org, on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
