

Joy Watts, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away on September 29, 2025, in Davie, Florida, at the age of 67. Born on February 22, 1958, in Alexandria, Virginia, Joy's life was a testament to her name, bringing joy to all who knew her. She navigated life's journey with courage and a heart full of love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion.
Joy dedicated 30 years to her career as a nurse, touching the lives of countless individuals with her caring touch and comforting presence. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her professional life as she managed personal real estate properties alongside her beloved husband, Bobby. Together, they found joy in the business they built, as well as in the simple pleasure of running her hotdog cart outside the courthouse, which she did with pride for about three years.
Family was the cornerstone of Joy's world. She was preceded in death by her step-daughter Patti and her sister Franny. Her loving spirit is carried on by her husband Bobby, her step-daughter Denise, her adored granddaughter Gianna, her sister Anita, her mother, sister-in-laws, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Joy cherished each moment with her family, whether it was going out to eat, sharing stories, or simply being in each other's company.
A woman of many passions, Joy's love for animals shone brightly through her affection for her cats. She found peace and happiness in tending to her garden, ensuring every plant received the care it needed to thrive. Yard sales were a particular joy, as she delighted in the thrill of the hunt for treasures. A trip to the salon for a manicure was a cherished routine, and her home was a reflection of her love for cleanliness and order.
Joy's zest for life was evident in her role as a grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She embraced these roles wholeheartedly, pouring her love into each relationship and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her laughter and the sparkle in her eye when she was with her family will be deeply missed.
Joy's life was a beautiful journey of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were graced by her presence. Her memory will live on as a guiding light of love and joy in the lives of those she touched.
A visitation will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, located at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024, on October 6, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled to take place at Taft Street Baptist Church, 7241 Taft St, Hollywood, FL 33024, on October 7, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
Interment will follow at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens East, Taft St, Hollywood, FL 33024, on October 7, 2025, from 11:45 am to 12:00 pm.
