Judy Ann Padgett

Judy Padgett, 70, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away on July  8th, 2024.  Judy was born in Greenville, SC to parents James Roger Padgett and Grace Collins Padgett on May 1, 1954.  She worked for Carpenter Contractors of America before retiring, serving as office manager for many years. 

Judy was preceded in death by her father in 2019 and her life partner, Richard Butz, in 2023.  She is survived by her mother, Grace, of Greenville, SC,  a sister, Carolyn (Padgett) Guy, brother-in-law, Graham Guy, both of Marietta, GA, and long time friends David Hamilton and Bob Leather of Fort Lauderdale. She is also survived by a nephew, Collin Guy, his wife, Nicole, both of Savannah, GA, and a niece, Lauren Guy of Durham, NC. Judy also leaves behind her life partner’s children, Christina Royer, Erica Patel, Ryan Butz, and their spouses and children.  

Judy will be remembered for her kind heart and her ability to make people laugh.  She also cared deeply for animals, especially cats, and fed and cared for countless abandoned and homeless cats throughout her lifetime.  Please consider honoring her memory with a donation to Abandoned Pet Rescue in Fort Lauderdale.      

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held in Fort Lauderdale at a later time, date to be determined soon.
