This is the story of Julia M. Fernandez, “The Champ”, who was loved,is missed and will always be cherished. Julia lived a long, happy lifeand passed peacefully while in her sleep Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Julia’s, affectionately known as “Julie”, story starts May 10, 1936,in Wilson, North Carolina. She was the second child to Edwardand Minnie (House) Anderson. From an early age she attendedGreater Ward Chapel in Hallandale FL until 1980. She then joinedAbundant Living Ministry of Pembroke Pines until now.She was always involved in many areas of the Church.
Julia was a selfless wife, mother, sister, grandmother andgreat-grandmother. She loved her family and was the happiest whensurrounded by them. She enjoyed cooking large meals every holiday,where her family and friends feasted on her famous Macaroni andCheese, Broccoli casserole, cornbread, potato salad and stuffing.
Julia met her husband, Felix M. Fernandez on July 7, 1962 whilein Philadelphia, married him on February 20, 1965, they weremarried for 56 years, strong.
Julia retired as an Accounting Assistant from BellSouth after 20 yearsof “Excellent” service with “Perfect” Attendance. She enjoyed servingthe Lord, bowling, playing (and winning) Monopoly, Uno, Dominoes,watching Gun Smoke, The Lone Ranger, The Price Is Right, football(Miami Dolphins), dancing and playing basketball.
Julia is survived by her husband, Felix M. Fernandez, her daughterPamela Carter, her grandchildren, Dustin and Nichole (Nikki)Fernandez, known by her great-granddaughter Kurstyn as "Abuela", brothers, George andCharles Anderson , sister Yvonne Brown and many nieces,nephews and other family members.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents Edward andMinnie Anderson, daughter Eleanor Braynen, sister Edith Ellis,brothers Edward, Warren and Harold Anderson.
