He married his wife, Blanca in August of 1975 in Philadelphia and they were married for 48 beautiful years. They later moved to Florida in 1987. Julio has 12 siblings, many nieces and nephews and loving close friends. He was survived by his 2 beautiful children, his son Julio (and his wife Sara), and his daughter Michelle. He has 4 amazing grandchildren, Jillian, Julio, Jayden and Gianna, with a bonus son/nephew Jorge (and his wife Eve) and sons Jorge Jr. and Edwin. And of course we cannot forget his beloved “granddogs”, Mina, Bella, Cookie and Miley.
Julio loved to garden, listen to music and spend time with his family (aka his “fans”). Julio was also a huge soccer fan for the Colombian National Team and Liverpool Team and he always loved a good coffee from his favorite coffee shop, Dunkin Donuts.
Julio was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was extremely loving and the kindest man you will ever meet. He was a hard worker and always loved to help people. He was a man of a few words but always told the best stories and always had to “one up” everyone on their stories. He never wanted the spotlight on him and never looked for praises. He never liked to boast or brag or bother anyone with his worries, but you could always rely on him to be the shoulder you could cry on if you needed. He was a strong and kind man with a heart of gold, and we will all treasure the amazing memories we had with him. He was the foundation of our family and loved us all tremendously. And our hearts are filled with joy knowing that he will be reunited with his angel in heaven, his daughter, Jillian.
