June Ragoonanan

June Ragoonanan, 82, of Fyzabad, passed away on June 21st, 2023, in Sunrise, Fl. June, AKA Chunnun, was born in Fyzabad, Trinidad, to Rajah Goberdhan and Ramsaroop Chunielal on January 10th, 1941. She went to school at Fyzabad Presbyterian School. Later, she married Ivan Ragoonanan (Deceased) in Siparia. She had many struggles in life, but overcame them with hard work and love for her children.  After migrating to the U.S., she worked as a Prep Cook at Forest Trace Retirement home, Lauderhill for 7 years until her retirement.

June Ragoonanan is preceded in death by her spouse Ivan and siblings-Dee Dee, Dolly, Dulcie, and Sacky. She is survived by Samdaye, Shantie, and Dharam.

She was a wonderful mother to Don, Susan, Ian, Alan, and Arlene. June was blessed to be the Mother in Law of Nolan Swans, Lana Ragoonanan, and Shameel Mohammed.

She was also blessed to be the grandmother of Briana, Cameron, Keelan, Samantha, Jacquita, Seren, Amalie, Adrian, Melisha, and Marcus and the great-grandmother of 5. She was the common law wife of Hollis Dumont.

June was the "joyful" aunt of Chandra, Scott (deceased) Mahadeo, Ray, Judy, Pat, and Frank Hunte (all deceased), Shamain Mendes, Camille, Sigurd and Marijanne Jokumsen, Garry, Larry, Ronnie, Wendy, Sheri, Dave and Jai (deceased) Roopchand, Shane and Chantal Chunielal, Michelle, Staci, Sally, and Stefan Chunielal.

June was the cousin of Molie, Preacher, and many more.

June was the "outgoing" Sister-in-Law of Sigurd Jokumsen (UK), Ruby Chunielal, Pulchand Roopchand (Deceased), Oswald Hunte (Deceased), Perette Chunielal (USA), Seelochan Mahadeo (deceased) and Raul Gascon (Deceased). Shirley (Canada), Bob, John, Maureen, Patsy, Grace, and Kishore.

All in all, June was loved by many and will be remembered by some of her closest friends, Tim and Barbara Mitchell (Canada), Louisa Edmund (Deceased), Willian, Patrick, Kelvin (Deceased), Krisha, and Janke.

June was humble, kind, contented, and strong, a giver to all in need ... and will be remembered by those who love her dearly.
