Karen M. Fucile

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 on Friday October 22, 2021 at Little Flower Catholic Church at 1805 Pierce Street in Hollywood, Florida.  Father Marek is the celebrant for the Mass of Christian Burial. Mausoleum Entombment will follow the funeral at Hollywood Memorial Gardens East Cemetery at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida in building Legacy 24.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunter’s. 

Karen was born in Hammond, Indiana on November 29, 1939.  She graduated from Hammond High School and then attended Franklin College and Indiana University where she earned her science degree and was a proud member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Karen was married to Francis Anthony Fucile at Little Flower Catholic Church in Hollywood, Florida on July 17, 1965 and they were married for 53 years until Francis’s death in 2018.  Karen worked as an elementary, middle school and high school educator for 26 years and enjoyed reading and word games, travel, sports and boating with her family.

Karen is survived by her four children: Joe (of Atlanta, Georgia), Connie Nelson (of Pensacola, Florida), Frank (of Palm City, Florida) and Anthony (of Cocoa Beach, Florida), her nine grandchildren Devon, Sidney, Kendall, Owen, CJ, Logan, Piper, Bella and Gianna, and one great granddaughter Charlee as well as other family and friends.  

To honor Karen, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Thomas Aquinas High School at 2801 SW 12th Street, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312 (954) 581-0700 https://www.aquinas-sta.org/giving/annual-fund where she and her husband sent all four of their children and where she taught for a short time in the early 1980’s.
