When the Doctor announced the twins, he couldn't have known the great surprise and happiness he was bestowing on the List Family, with older sister Jeanne proclaiming in all of her excitement to those listening "there's two of them and they're really!" Kathleen List Susil Spicer was born October 14, 1926 in Peebles, Ohio and passed peacefully to heaven on February 1, 2016. The older of the twins, by 15 minutes, she was proceeded in death by her father Paul Joesph Friedland List and mother Carrie Grace Gaffin List, older sister Jeanne Rice, twin sister Pauline Murray, husbands Daniel Susil and Robert Spicer, stepson Scott Spicer and survived by brother Fred List (Ethel) , brother in law Gerald "Bud" Susil (Rosemary), sister-in-law JoAnn Hanners (Wayne) and her six daughters Diane Eakin, Pam Smith (Michael), Kim Parish, Valerie Witters (Art), Lorraine Allen (Gary) Kathy Messano (Jerry), step son Craig Spicer (Betty), daughter-in-law Bea Spicer and 21 grand children, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews and numerous family members. Even with being a mother to six active girls, Mrs. Spicer had time to volunteer for the American Cancer Chapter, play bridge, enjoy boating with the Biscayne Bay Power Squadron; and still drive to school sports days, chaperone school events and most importantly open her home to her daughter's friends at all times. She ran the kind of home that everyone wanted to visit and not just because there were six girls there but because there was love there. Our mother taught us a special type of love, the one that knows no ending, that is boundless, unyielding, uncompromising. She was a true example of our Christian faith, a woman of hope, of strength and self sacrificing love. She enjoyed her job as the secretary at Redeemer Lutheran Church and then at Norfolk Southern Railway; but she always felt her most important job was raising her six daughters. In her later years she enjoyed traveling, golf, bunco, bridge, bowling and Friday night dinners with her friends. She was fond of telling everyone that "Dan gave her her daughters and Bob gave her the world".
