

He was bon in Detroit, Michigan on June 28, 1915, a son of Romeo and Corina (Fioretto) Castorri. He was raised and educated in Detroit and served in the Untied States Army during WW II.
Larry was a renowned Big Band Vocalist singing with Tommy Dorsey, Dick Jurgen and Stan Carter. He was a guest director of The Sammy Kaye Band for two weeks while Mr. Kaye was on vacation and also directed the Blue Barron's Band. Larry worked with Perry Como and took over his show for one evening. He worked with the in-house band for WJR Radio in Detroit.
An accomplished song writer, his most famous song was "Believing in You" which he sang at the Uptown Club in Detroit.
Formerly of Dallas, Texas, Larry moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1966. He owned and operated Bell-Tone Hearing Aid Franchise for many years before his retirement.
Survived by his brother, Albert Richard Castorri, nieces and nephews, Richard Alan Castorri, B. Alexis Castorri, Robert Alexander (Cheryl Ann) Castorri, Ronald Arthur (Mary Beth) Castorri, Peggy Hope Castorri and John Castorr, great nieces and nephews, Tina, Taylor and Dill Hebert, Ricardo C. Fontenelle Castorri, Cheryl Ann Castorri, Emily Brooke Castorri, Christian (Jennifer) Castorri, Emma Lilly, Summer Poppy and Crew Alexander, Griffith Alexander, Rhett Andrew and Dawson Albert Rutherford. Larry also leaves his dear friends, Ed and Sharon Mahoney and longtime caregiver, Maud Barrett.
A Catholic Service and Celebration of Larry's Life will be held on Friday, September 21st at 1:00 P.M. at Fred Hunter's Memorial Garden Home, 6301 Taft Street in Hollywood. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
