

After a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer, Linda Anne Hilliard Simpson passed away on June 23, 2020 in Southwest Ranches, Florida at the age of 72. She leaves behind her son Brett Simpson, mother Anna Hilliard, her sister Lez-lee Trychta, brother-in-law Earl Trychta, and nephew Dustin Perdue.
Linda was born on March 13, 1948 in Miami Beach, Florida, to father Lester Hilliard and mother Anna Keener Hilliard. While growing up in Hallandale, Florida she enjoyed reading, learning about history, and was advanced to a higher grade in school. She graduated from South Broward High and went on to college to begin a career in radiology and later on mammography. Throughout her long and distinguished medical career, Linda worked at many hospitals in South Florida focusing on her passion of helping women battle breast cancer. She was the head of a women’s center and trained other professionals in her field. After retiring, she volunteered with the American Cancer Society as a triple touch instructor teaching woman how to do self-exams. Linda organized several health fairs for her local community so others would have access to free healthcare. Linda’s pride and joy was her son Brett. Throughout her life, she supported and volunteered to help her son with all of his academic and extracurricular endeavors. Linda helped fundraise for Brett’s high school football team. She consistently helped her son’s classmates have meals after games and provided clothes that they needed for school. Linda spent the majority of her life in Hollywood, Florida. Linda had many friends, loved visiting Walt Disney World, enjoyed watching NASCAR and football, loved dancing, and attending classic car shows. She was a loving and devoted friend to many who always fought for the under appreciated. Most importantly, she was an unwavering caregiver for others in her community. Linda was an angel on earth, who always had an open heart, a fiery passion, and motivation to go the extra mile to help someone in need. She is loved by many and will be truly missed.
Her services will be held on July 3rd at 1:00PM at Fred Hunter’s in Hollywood, Florida. Linda requested to be in entombed in a mausoleum at Fred Hunter’s Hollywood Memorial Gardens North. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to please make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Society.
