Lucy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts to Ovsanna and Nishan Gosdanian, survivors of the Armenian Genocide. Lucy’s life revolved around her music career, her family, and her church.
She lived an amazing life with her husband Cortland, as professional musicians. They named themselves the “Lucille Dane Duo”, Lucy sang music from the Great American Songbook and played drums and Cortland played piano. They traveled throughout the United States and surrounding islands from Bermuda to the Virgin Islands. After retiring from the music business, Lucy worked for the Florida Department of Transportation for ten years. Also, in her retirement years she sang in her church choir.
She was a devout Christian. She was very social and made friends wherever she went. Everyone loved her. She was a kind, generous, loving, respectable, classy, proper lady.
Lucy had no children, so she poured her love into her sister, Ann’s, two children. Family was everything to her. She would do anything for her nieces.
Lucy is survived by her two nieces, Valerie Babaian and Jean Mosessian, her great nephew Peter Martin Babaian and his Wife Sarah and three children, Katie, Jamie and Thomas, and her great niece, Alexis Babaian. She is predeceased by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Cortland Grant and her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Ann and Gerald Mosessian, her great niece, Lauren Babaian and nephew in law Peter S. Babaian.
On Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00pm the family will hold religious prayer service at St. David Armenian Church located at 2300 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33431.
