

Luis Armada, 83, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, formerly of Hollywood, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2017 at Seasons Hospice (Memorial Regional Hospital South) following declining health. His beloved wife and family were by his side.
He was born in Havana, Cuba on April 30, 1934, the son of Geraldo and Isabel (Alonzo) Armada. He was raised and educated in Havana. Luis and his family migrated from Cuba in April of 1967, settling in Jersey City, New Jersey where they lived for five years. They then moved to South Florida in 1972.
Mr. Armada furthered his education in the US and attended college where he received many credits. For many years he worked as a mechanic for the Miami-Dade Transit Authority. Luis was a great handyman and built his own home in Hollywood. He enjoyed working as a mechanic on cars and with construction. In his spare time Luis would go fishing, which he loved very much. You would often see him playing his guitar and keyboard along with singing. His wife, eight children, and grandchildren were his whole life and he would do anything for them.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 61 years, Digna (Viera) Armada, his loving eight children, Luis (Josie) Armada, Barbara (Miguel) Pardron, Maria (Joe) Parra, Lazaro (Linda) Armada, Ana (Frank) Ugalde, Regla (Vincent) Harris, Janin (Joe) Castro and Iris Armada. He is also survived by his 20 adored grandchildren and 14 beloved great-grandchildren, his brother Juan Armada, and his sister Mary Armada. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Harris this past January.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 31st from 10:00 A.M. ~ 12:00 P.M. at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. The funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
