Marie Therese Antoine

Marie Therese Antoine was a wise, strong and phenomenal woman of great substance, who dedicated her life to Jesus, family and service. She  went to sleep in Christ Jesus on January 14, 2022, at the age of 86.

Marie Therese, the youngest of 10 children, was born on June 16th, 1935, to the late Lenoire and Amalia Denis in Port-Salut, Haiti where she spent her young life and migrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1970. Where Marie married the love of her life, Jacques Antoine, and remained in marital bliss for over 40 years until his passing on July 13, 2014. Marie was a devoted woman of God and was a member of Église Baptiste Du Redempteur while in Brooklyn. She was known by her church family as Sr. Jacques.

During her time in New York, Marie balanced working in the hotel industry as well as being a homemaker to 3 wonderful children.

In 1988, Marie and Jacques moved their family to Miami, Florida. They would soon find a home church at Église Baptiste De La Fraternite, under the leadership of Pastor Wismy Athouriste. Where she would go on to be an active member and devoted in their ministries.

The simplest things in life bought great joy to Marie. She enjoyed feeding many and opening her home to support family members and friends over the years. She especially enjoyed the company of her extensive family, neighbors, and friends.

Marie had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. These include prayer , song worship. Reciting psalms, including her favorite psalm 121 and 23. Along with one of her favorite scriptures verses from Exodus 14:14 “L’Éternel combattra pour vous; et vous, gardez le silence.”Exode 14:14 LSG Marie's personality and smile were contagious and her love was unconditional. She is survived by her beloved Children: Yvon, Marie (Tite soeur), Saturne. Her daughter-in law, sons-in-law , grand children and Great grand child . Including other family members, various nieces, nephews, friends, and church family members.
