Michael met and fell in love with his forever partner Judy in 1973. Their marriage was destined to last, as they recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. They had two children: Tara-Kaye and Michael Jr.
In 1979, Michael immigrated to New York and then relocated to Florida in 1989. He worked as a dock worker with DHL for 27 years and retired in February 2022. His joyous retirement was spent cooking, traveling, and managing his very own home- based coffee shop “Mickey’s Cafe” He enjoyed watching all sports especially soccer, basketball, and horse racing. He took great pleasure in worship and fellowship and was a dedicated member of Save the Nations Church.
He is survived by his wife Judy, two children, twelve siblings, a host of extended family members, and a large circle of friends. He was not just a devoted husband and father, but a beacon of light for all who knew him. His sense of humor turned the simplest moments into cherished memories. His wisdom was a guiding star, whether through a quiet conversation or a shared story, offered insight and comfort to those around him.
His legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will be forever remembered, not just in the hearts of his family but in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He taught us the value of living fully, loving deeply, and appreciating the beauty in every day. His spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us to cherish the moments we have and the people we hold dear.
Services will be held at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, on Friday August 30th at 10:00am with celebration of life to follow.
