Miss Millie of Pompano Beach, 88 years young, passed away August 29, 2012 at the John Knox Village Health Center. Mildred Hill was born on January 25, 1924 to Grover and Jennie Hill in Amarillo Texas. Her zest for life and love of family and Christian faith were the cornerstones of her being. She is survived by her six children Dennis, Jack, Larry and David Braden and Noni Anderson and Kathi Jodway. She is also survived by her brother Colonel Richard Hill of Argyle, TX along with 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Millie was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Red Hat Society. She graduated from the Lucy Webb Hayes School of Nursing in 1959. She saw life as an adventure to be shared with her loved ones. When the children were growing up she would load all six of them into a station wagon and drive from Michigan across the country to Texas to spend a summer vacation with family. In the late 1990's she traveled with Bob Cunningham in a trawler from the Florida Keys to Chesapeake Bay and back, quite a feat considering their age when they tackled the expedition. Her sense of humor and positive attitude made it impossible not to love and respect her. She was always smiling and you had better look out when she got that twinkle in her eye. Her unconditional love of family was, and is, what keeps all of us together. She loved music and dancing and made it a point to live life to the fullest. She wants to be remembered with love and affection and laughter. Never forget to laugh and have fun! She lived an extraordinary life and will be missed by all of those who knew her.
