Mohamed, known fondly as “Sonson” to his family and friends, was born on February 17, 1954 in New Amsterdam, Guyana, to father Hushie Raufman and mother Eunice, nee Bacchus. He is preceded in death by parents and his siblings Nazy, Breeze, Shamena, Jello, and Ray.
Sonson will be remembered for his unwavering generosity and his ability to make every family gathering special. He was a devoted brother and an adored uncle who always had time for a story or a game. Known for his quick wit and warm heart, he was a mentor and a friend to everyone who crossed his path. Though he had no children of his own, he was a guiding light to his nieces and nephews. His adventurous spirit and love of travel and meeting people will never be forgotten.
Sonson leaves behind his wife Indi, his siblings Shamie, Pam, Jean, Teddy, Khyume, Mirza, Bebsy, Yasmin, and Fazo, as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Sonson was a constant source of joy, wisdom, and laughter in our lives and he will be greatly missed.
