He was born in Manning, SC, in 1960 to Gloris (Ragin) Crawford and Mood Conyers Sr., two loving parents who welcomed him into a large family and taught him from an early age the benefits of hard work and the importance of pursuing happiness through every stage of life. After relocating to Miami at a young age, Mood graduated from Miami Carol City Senior High School before finding his way to a fulfilling career as an art dealer. He eventually found immeasurable joy with the love of his life Umati Joanne Mohammed, with whom he spent almost three decades, up until his death.
The impact he had on his friends, family, and clients, was immense, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him is sure to fondly remember his witty charm and contagious laugh. He was the light of our lives, and will live on in the hearts of all of those who loved him.
Mood was preceded in death by his father Mood Conyers Sr., his mother Gloris R. Crawford, and his uncles Johnny Ragin, Levy Conyers, and Joseph Conyers. He is survived by his partner Umati Joanne Mohammed; daughter Megan (Sofia) Conyers, stepchildren Amrika (Ravi) Dalal, Tanuja (Patrick) Hughes, and Jeevan (Portia) Rampersad; six beautiful, energetic grandchildren; siblings Johnnie Mae (David, deceased) Bennett, Russell (Cathleen) Conyers, Melvin (Jackie) Conyers, Mallorie Conyers, Josh Conyers, and Courtney Conyers; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
