

Nelson “Freddy” was born in Caguas, PR to Domingo Diaz and Bienvenida Rivera on October 13, 1952. Freddy married Milagros Arzola on October 19, 1973 in Caguas. Freddy worked as a Police Officer for the police force in Puerto Rico and the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority for a number of years. After he retired from law enforcement, Freddy was a security officer for Wackenhut Security and Miami Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL until his full retirement in 2015. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the US Army for 2 years. Freddy was a member and leader of the Puerto Rico National Guard, and the Royal Rangers at the Assemblies of God. Freddy was a born-again Christian. Lover of the word of God, and a faithful Christian, husband, and father.
Freddy is survived by Milagros Arzola, Coraly Diaz and Fernando Gamboa, Jermain and Sara Diaz, Sueheily Diaz, Edwin and Delia Diaz, Evelyn Diaz, Tiara I. Diaz, Jaylinn M. Ploysungvarl, Diana Y. Rosario, Victoria A. Ploysungvarl, Briana N. Diaz, Rayden L. Ploysungvarl, Kyle A. Dreyer, Jon P. Machin, Ethan A. Machin, Steel Machin, Ronald E. Diaz, Ezra Z. Dasher, Maverick L.T. Dasher, Ely A. Torres, David Moreno, Luz C. Arzola, Anibal Hernandez, Carmen Hernandez, Pedro Hernandez, Maria “Letty” Hernandez, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be live streamed from Fred Hunter’s Thursday July 23 at 1pm. Burial will follow at Fred Hunter’s North Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter’s.
