Nick E Bucci
Resident of Southwest Ranches
January 23rd, 1933-February 11th, 2024
Nick passed away on Super Bowl Sunday after enduring a short battle with Parkinson’s. He was a well-respected member of the South Florida community for generations.
He was born in Mc Kees Rocks PA graduating from Stowe High School and Carnegie Business School after serving two years in the US Army. He worked in Life Insurance and Investments for John Hancock Financial Services, first in the Pittsburgh area, and then after transfer to the Hollywood Florida area in 1967 for over 31 years as a sales manager until retiring at the age of 59 years. He was a devout Catholic, Eucharistic minister, and a member of St David Catholic Church (Davie FL) in his later years.
Dad’s passion as a young father was coaching football and baseball, mentoring hundreds of kids in the Hollywood FL area. It seemed there wasn’t a time in later years that we would see any of the kids that he coached that wouldn’t ask how he was. He influenced so many.
He was also an accomplished golfer and in retirement, he taught and played golf at several clubs to which he belonged.
He helped lead the generation that set standards high and expected you to live by them.
Nick was a loving husband to Helen Irene Bucci (nee’ Figo) for 41 years before her early passing in 1996. Helen was an inspiring and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and professional nurse who was loved by all those she touched. She was truly the love of his life.
He is survived by devoted daughter Tami Farthing (Bob) of Southwest Ranches FL, Son Patrick Bucci (Yvette) of Southwest Ranches FL, Grandson Patrick Bucci Jr. of Southwest Ranches FL, Grand Daughter-In-Law Candace Farthing of Davie FL, Step Grandson Christopher Scott of Denver CO, Sister Chris Armstrong (Jim) of Pembroke Pines FL, and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and God-children.
He is also preceded in death by Parents Adeline and Patsy Bucci, Brother Ralph Bucci, Grandson Nicholas Farthing and Father and Mother-in-Law Jon and Pearl Figo.
Dad, you are missed by all of us.
Friends and Family are invited for a visitation on Thursday February 15th, 2024, 7-10PM. Mass is being held at St David Catholic Church Davie FL on Friday February 16th, 2024, at 10:30AM followed by internment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery immediately following.
