

Born on June 13, 1931, in Azua, Dominican Republic, Palmira was the daughter of Maria Antonia Cespedes and Merardo Beltre. A dedicated entrepreneur, she owned and operated two grocery stores—one in her hometown of Azua and another in Santo Domingo—before immigrating to the United States. She later worked as a seamstress for 15 years in New York.
Since 1990, Palmira had made Broward County, Florida, her home, where she lovingly devoted her time to caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Palmira is survived by her daughters, Isabel and Juana Cespedes; her sons, Gregorio and Nelson; her grandchildren, Julissa Tejeda (Santo), Astrid Mata (Ronny), Gabrieli Caparelli (Angelica), Edward Polanco (Natasha), Annabel Polanco, Daniel Concepcion, Yesenia Melo, and Isaias Matos; her brothers, Victor Beltre and Clodomiro Cespedes; and her great-grandchildren, Kyara and Abril Montero, Alani, Ronny Jr., Roniel and Alina Mata, Analyah, Lester and Alexander Monteith, Adrian and Amir Polanco, Isaiah, Xavier, and Mason.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Fred Hunter’s.
